Bio
Natasha Berg (b.1981) is a classically trained oil painter who lives and works in Bodo, Norway. Originally from Ukraine, her first acquaintance with art was at the age of 6 when she was enrolled into drawing school in Kiev and later has shown a great interest in painting.
Her initial training began in Northern Norway (Bodø) with painter Tor Kvarv and after a year she was accepted to the Florence Academy of Art in Gothenburg where she received scholarship and several awards.
Natasha works both in the atelier and from life. Her fascination of nature's variety and changing light has made her take her studio outside. When she paints outdoors, with field easel, in all kinds of weather, also called plein-air, she gets the shapes and hues of the landscape in a more precise and direct manner.
Artist's statement
"I believe that art makes our lives richer. It touches human spirit in ways that can’t be explained. In my work I want to celebrate the beauty of nature and life around us and what has been given to us".
